Hope House Home for Boys

The cards that I sell here in Chapala and Ajijic, Mexico benefit the dental program for the boys at Hope House in the nearby village of Ixlahuacan. There are close to 30 boys at the home and many of them come to the home having received no dental treatment. If you live here at Lakeside and would like to order a quality, hand crafted card for a special occasion and help me contribute to this worthy cause, please e-mail me at bettyinchapala@yahoo.com Card price is 50 pesos; the entire sales price is donated to Hope House.

Shades and Patterns of Blue

I'm cutting it pretty close with the A La Card Monkey challenge #103, but if you want to play, you do have until Midnight PST tomorrow, Thursday.  It is a sketch challenge, with an animal theme. My friend, Theresa Pollack, is guest designer there this week and her card with the doe and newborn fawn makes me so homesick for the old "homeplace" back in Conroe, Texas. The new fawns started showing up in our backyard in May -- I'm gonna miss that this year -- so much!! Enough of that, here's the Monkey Sketch ....

I will also be entering my card in the Designer's Choice challege at Repeat Impressions where the challenge is "Birds of a Feather". Cheri Weston is challenging us to use birds or a bird as our focal image. My bird stamp came from the $1 bin at Michael's and I just love it; don't know why I haven't inked it up in such a long time! Papers are from Stampin' Up, sentiment from Gina K. Designs; button from my stash and ribbon from my "bits of ribbon" jar. (by the way, the doe and fawn stamp that Theresa used for her A La Card Monkey card is a Repeat Impressions stamp!)

Thanks for your visit; come back again!
Betty
