Hope House Home for Boys

The cards that I sell here in Chapala and Ajijic, Mexico benefit the dental program for the boys at Hope House in the nearby village of Ixlahuacan. There are close to 30 boys at the home and many of them come to the home having received no dental treatment. If you live here at Lakeside and would like to order a quality, hand crafted card for a special occasion and help me contribute to this worthy cause, please e-mail me at bettyinchapala@yahoo.com Card price is 50 pesos; the entire sales price is donated to Hope House.

Roses July Challenge

I'm afraid I may have to resign from the Roses because I keep doing all the challenge wrong!! Guess my new resolve will have to be to complete the challenge as soon as it is issued so I won't have time to forget the details!! LOL

Wonderful Connie challenged us to Christmas in July (anything but a card) -- guess what I did -- you probably guessed it, I made a card! Oh well, I've had a few other things on my mind this month -- if you want an update, please see my previous post!

Okay, so here's my card...................
I went up on our roof (mirador) to take the picture so you can see a hazy image of our mountains in the background at the top of the card. I used papers from Docrafts Papermania, Classic Christmas, a Cuttlebug embossing folder, and Spellbinders Nestabilities dies to make my card. With a bit of ribbon and three shiny flowers, it was easy as pie!

While I was up on the roof, I took a picture of the sun accenting a beautiful cloud and when I came back inside I decided to take a picture of my clock/thermometer to give you a taste of our weather (outside temp 63; inside temp 72 at 7:30 am). My sister took many pictures of the clock/thermometer while she was here; she couldn't believe the temperatures she was experiencing during the month of JULY!

Have a wonderful day, everyone!
Betty
