Hope House Home for Boys

The cards that I sell here in Chapala and Ajijic, Mexico benefit the dental program for the boys at Hope House in the nearby village of Ixlahuacan. There are close to 30 boys at the home and many of them come to the home having received no dental treatment. If you live here at Lakeside and would like to order a quality, hand crafted card for a special occasion and help me contribute to this worthy cause, please e-mail me at bettyinchapala@yahoo.com Card price is 50 pesos; the entire sales price is donated to Hope House.

Merry Monday Challenge

I'd like to invite you to play along with the challenge at Merry Monday this week. I have the honor of being a guest designer for sketch challenge #14 and here is the really neat sketch that Lesley has for us to play with.....

My patterned papers are from Papermania, Classic Christmas. The deer with the foil sentiment is a punch out from the same paper pack, that I cut out with a Spellbinders circle die. I also cut a scalloped circle to mat the image and added the red rhinestones. The solid green panel is Stampin' Up Old Olive and was embossed with Cuttlebug's Swiss Dots embossing folder. Some ribbon and a bow finished off another Christmas card!

I definitely enjoyed working with this sketch and decided to try a second card, only this time making it a Spring time card.

I used SU Certainly Celery for the background panel, again embossing with the same Swiss Dots folder. The patterned paper is from a SU Prints Pack and a Martha Stewart paper pack,  Classic Woodland. I used the spirelli technique on my scalloped circle and added a little dot with a Certainly Celery marker to the scallops and guess what??? There are more dots on the green ribbon! Stamps are from AnnaBelle Stamps.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find time to play with this wonderful sketch!
