Hope House Home for Boys

The cards that I sell here in Chapala and Ajijic, Mexico benefit the dental program for the boys at Hope House in the nearby village of Ixlahuacan. There are close to 30 boys at the home and many of them come to the home having received no dental treatment. If you live here at Lakeside and would like to order a quality, hand crafted card for a special occasion and help me contribute to this worthy cause, please e-mail me at bettyinchapala@yahoo.com Card price is 50 pesos; the entire sales price is donated to Hope House.

Paper Pieced Leaves

Patti J. has the current Designers Choice Challenge at the Repeat Impressions blog, The House That Stamps Built. The challenge is paper piecing. Patti made the prettiest pocket card with fall colors and leaves and I just had to CASE it, although mine did turn out quite differently. I love that about CASEing cards!

I'd also like to enter this card into the Timeless Tuesday challenge at the Flourishes blog. Their challenge is to make a fall themed card.

My leaves were stamped on designer paper and fussy cut. Showed the card to my hubby and he didn't realize that the insert was to be pulled out; he asked how someone would know, so I added a little leaf with the word "pull" written on it!! Here's the card showing the insert too.

I'm making birthday cards for our church members this week. Thanks Patti, for the inspiration for this one!

Betty,
This is really cute, funny how we bring the hubby's in on this hobby. Mine has a gift for drawing and often helps me with proportion if I'm not sure.
