Hope House Home for Boys

The cards that I sell here in Chapala and Ajijic, Mexico benefit the dental program for the boys at Hope House in the nearby village of Ixlahuacan. There are close to 30 boys at the home and many of them come to the home having received no dental treatment. If you live here at Lakeside and would like to order a quality, hand crafted card for a special occasion and help me contribute to this worthy cause, please e-mail me at bettyinchapala@yahoo.com Card price is 50 pesos; the entire sales price is donated to Hope House.

A Basket of Flowers

Joan's Gardens is having a challenge to make a get well card with a basket of flowers, using patterned paper, with green and white as the main colors.

This was a fun card to make. I went looking through my digi images and found buckets of flowers, pots of flowers, and vases of flowers. It was a while before I found a basket from Digi-Sparkle. I filled my basket with flowers that I had punched out a long time ago and never used. The sparkly flower centers are stickers from Martha Stewart and I also used a MS branch punch for the greenery. The sentiment is from a Gina K. Designs set, Say It With Flowers. Used a Spellbinders Fancy Tags die to cut it out.

No rain today, but it's still overcast -- my sunshine has not made its reappearance yet!

Black, White & Gray

I have pretty card for you today, at least I hope you think it is! The color challenge is from Tina Gilliland at stampTV to use black, white, and gray. The sketch challenge is from Creative Clear Stamps; I rotated it a bit. I printed the Digi-Sparkle stamps on dp and cut them out. Wish I could fit into this dress -- the black and white paper reminds me of a batik skirt I used to have back when I was about the right size to wear this dress! You can see I've used the trusted Swiss Dots embossing folder again to go along with the polka dot dress and the sentiments are computer generated.

See you later,
Betty
