Hope House Home for Boys

The cards that I sell here in Chapala and Ajijic, Mexico benefit the dental program for the boys at Hope House in the nearby village of Ixlahuacan. There are close to 30 boys at the home and many of them come to the home having received no dental treatment. If you live here at Lakeside and would like to order a quality, hand crafted card for a special occasion and help me contribute to this worthy cause, please e-mail me at bettyinchapala@yahoo.com Card price is 50 pesos; the entire sales price is donated to Hope House.

Isabella's Sketchbook Challenge is an open challenge this week. Make any project, any theme, any colors, with any Isabella's image! I've been wanting to make a corner bookmark which was a tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers last week. I printed out "Grape Cluster" and colored it with chalks, then sprayed with Krylon matte finish. I must admit that I messed up more than once making the bookmark -- all right, even more than twice! (I'll watch the video tutorial before making another one -- I've always learned better by having someone show me how!) If you're wondering about the book, it's an older one in my collection. What really makes it interesting to me is that the story takes place in my hometown of Natchez, Mississippi. I love reading the descriptions of the places where the "action" takes place, because I actually know the location of the streets, restaurants, churches, etc. Anyhoo, grab yourself an image from Isabella's Sketchbook and play along with us!
