Last Minute Christmas Cards

I made four of these cards tonight for the attendants who take care of my mother-in-law at her assisted living home. The Inkadinkadoo angel was stamped with versamark ink and embossed with Winter Wonderland Opaque embossing powder. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up. After embossing, I ran the panel through my Big Shot with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder and adhered it to a white base with a little panel of silver metallic card stock. Fall Challenges

Well, I started off making this card for Jennie Harper's Mix It Up Monday challenge over at stamp TV for Fall Foliage. I also found some other challenge sites that  had Fall/Autumn Colors as their theme.

My papers and stamps are from Stampin' Up. I tried a new technique that I saw on Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday #36 video -- Faux Watercoloring. I stamped my leaves and then used my Stampin' Up water brush to blend the color into the white areas of the leaves. The leaves on my card were stamped on plain white cardstock and it's a little hard to see the watercolor effect;  although, if you look closely you may be able to see that the color is darker right at the edges of the leaves. I did try some different leaves on watercolor paper and the effect is much more obvious.
