Hope House Home for Boys

The cards that I sell here in Chapala and Ajijic, Mexico benefit the dental program for the boys at Hope House in the nearby village of Ixlahuacan. There are close to 30 boys at the home and many of them come to the home having received no dental treatment. If you live here at Lakeside and would like to order a quality, hand crafted card for a special occasion and help me contribute to this worthy cause, please e-mail me at bettyinchapala@yahoo.com Card price is 50 pesos; the entire sales price is donated to Hope House.

A Little Note

My card today was made following  Sketch #23 from Freshly Made Sketches. My stamps are from a set by Clear Art Stamps -- there are some of the cutest little birds in this set. Papers are from My Mind's Eye and cardstock from Papertrey Ink and Gina K. Designs. I pleated some sheer ribbon and added a bow with a little tag attached.

I have another picture of our little houseguest. We really should be whipped for making him work so hard to earn his keep!

See you later,
Betty

2 Cards and a Houseguest

My first card follows the sketch at Merry Monday. Stamps are by Layers of Color, Christmas Blessings and Christmas Verses.  Not quite sure where I found the Christmas Ribbon. Here's the sketch:

My next card was made just because .... just because this fan fold rosette has been laying around for a while and needed to be made into a card.

Back in December my stamping group at the church made a card with a fanfold "wreath" and I made several examples showing how different they could look by varying the width of the strip, the width between the scores for the folds, and the different patterns of paper.

This little guy is our houseguest. His name is Peppe and his "mom" had to have knee surgery on Monday. He'll be staying with us until she has recuperated. He loves running around in the yard, chasing after a tennis ball or one of his stuffed toys. I was laughing yesterday because he was running in figure eights! Here he is sunning himself on the front step.

Come back and see me any time!
