Hope House Home for Boys

The cards that I sell here in Chapala and Ajijic, Mexico benefit the dental program for the boys at Hope House in the nearby village of Ixlahuacan. There are close to 30 boys at the home and many of them come to the home having received no dental treatment. If you live here at Lakeside and would like to order a quality, hand crafted card for a special occasion and help me contribute to this worthy cause, please e-mail me at bettyinchapala@yahoo.com Card price is 50 pesos; the entire sales price is donated to Hope House.

Merry Christmas Fan Fold Wreath

Happy Wednesday everyone! I got to looking for my blog post with this card and realized that I never posted it! So, here goes! First of all, it's ivory not white (seems like I'm always saying that!). The sentiment is from Flourishes and is embossed with Seafoam White embossing powder. The background uses a Cuttlebug embossing folder with snowflakes and I made the little fanfold circle with a snowflake center (that reminds me -- I made this card for a stampTV challenge and posted it there). Added a sheer ivory ribbon and I think it looks like a Christmas wreath. I'm going to demonstrate this technique at our next church stamping day; hope they'll have fun making them too! (if you've never done one, it's easy as can be -- you can find a tutorial at Splitcoaststampers)

I'm packing today for a trip to Puerto Vallarta -- hoping they will have wi-fi where we're staying so I can post some pictures during our stay. We have friends here who go to PV quite often but this will be my first trip -- we'll be taking the bus there so we can enjoy the scenery along the way rather than worrying about taking a wrong turn! It will be a five hour bus trip but I think it will be worth it!

Later,
Betty
