Hope House Home for Boys

The cards that I sell here in Chapala and Ajijic, Mexico benefit the dental program for the boys at Hope House in the nearby village of Ixlahuacan. There are close to 30 boys at the home and many of them come to the home having received no dental treatment. If you live here at Lakeside and would like to order a quality, hand crafted card for a special occasion and help me contribute to this worthy cause, please e-mail me at bettyinchapala@yahoo.com Card price is 50 pesos; the entire sales price is donated to Hope House.

2 Cards to Share

The first card I have to show you today is from stampTV's Blast From The Past challenge. Linda Payne challenged us to make a card (or two) with the Split Negative Technique. Now, this technique was not very nice to me when I first started creating, but I finally ended up with a card I am pleased with and it is posted below. The stamps I used are both from Gina K. Designs, the irises are from Elegant Flowers and the sentiment from Say It With Flowers. Sentiment was cut with Nestabilities Ribbon Tag Trio 2 and the ribbons are also from Gina K. Designs.

I will also be using this card for the Midnight Madness Challenge. Again, I'm going for the clean and simple version of the challenge and I changed the oval to a circle. Their challenge sketches are shown here:

This second card is for The Color Dare Challenge #72. Colors are Sahara Sand, Barely Banana, Blush Blossom, Certainly Celery, and Whisper White. I used a Sizzix embossing folder (Phrase, Thank You) and sponged ink on the raised areas. I call this my card of subtle colors!

Thanks for stopping by......
Betty
