Hope House Home for Boys

The cards that I sell here in Chapala and Ajijic, Mexico benefit the dental program for the boys at Hope House in the nearby village of Ixlahuacan. There are close to 30 boys at the home and many of them come to the home having received no dental treatment. If you live here at Lakeside and would like to order a quality, hand crafted card for a special occasion and help me contribute to this worthy cause, please e-mail me at bettyinchapala@yahoo.com Card price is 50 pesos; the entire sales price is donated to Hope House.

A Flowery Postcard

Many thanks to Patti P. who shared a link to a wonderful website in her post this morning for Sugar Creek Hollow's Momochromatic Green challenge. Thanks to her link I found this wonderful free postcard image at Ephemera's Vintage Garden. There were three other beautiful postcards with flowers that went along with this one but I only needed to use one of them.

Patti also shared a link to a terrific tutorial for making ruffled ribbon from paper. Be sure to check out Patti's card at Patti's Paper Creations -- I thought that her ruffles were make from ribbon, for sure!!

I have used the Monkey 99 sketch and flower challenge for my card. I had to rotate the sketch so that it would work with the size of the postcard image. Here's the sketch, which is a beauty itself.......

Hope you're able to check out some of the links -- I know you'll be glad you did!

Oh Betty, so glad you like the sites. Debbie's goodies at Ephemera's Vintage Garden are so gorgeous (hope you signed up her newsletter). I cannot wait to try the ruffles again. What a beautiful find in this postcard, I love using them and the way you used the punched border to capture it is so pretty. Thanks for the shout out and for joining in at Sugar Creek Hollow. We love having you.
