Hope House Home for Boys

The cards that I sell here in Chapala and Ajijic, Mexico benefit the dental program for the boys at Hope House in the nearby village of Ixlahuacan. There are close to 30 boys at the home and many of them come to the home having received no dental treatment. If you live here at Lakeside and would like to order a quality, hand crafted card for a special occasion and help me contribute to this worthy cause, please e-mail me at bettyinchapala@yahoo.com Card price is 50 pesos; the entire sales price is donated to Hope House.

A Sketch and a Spring Theme

I have the honor of being a guest designer at A La Card Monkey this week. I enjoyed this sketch because it's a little different from most of the the sketches I've seen lately. My DH was also impressed with the layout of my card. First, I'll share the sketch with you......

The sketches at A La Card Monkey are just as pretty as a card themselves and are a source of inspiration in addition to the cards by the designers! This week's challenge has a Spring Theme.

The papers I used are older Stampin' Up designer papers and the stamps are from Gina K. Designs' Spring Mix stampTV kit. I used Spellbinders dies and SU circle punches to cut out my image and sentiment. Also pulled out the Embellie Gellie to adhere all the rhinestones to the scallops and a little sheer bow caps it off!

I'll really like to have some of my buddies come and play in this challenge with me -- who can resist that cute little duck staring up at you from the sketch?

Super congrats! Love your card, will sure try and play. This is my break from cleaning and cooking for missions conference. It's been a real whirlwind but such a blessing! Wanted to pop in and say congrats while I was doing some quick blog surfing before crashing for the night.

Beautiful card, I love how you put the flower with the thank you. The bling of the rhinestones is great, it is hard for me sometimes to use that many on one card... I think I am kind of a Hoarder when it comes to some of my consumables!! LOL Thanks for leaving all the fun comments on the different cards, and Thanks for being on our Guest Design Team at A La Card Monkey this week!!
