Hope House Home for Boys

The cards that I sell here in Chapala and Ajijic, Mexico benefit the dental program for the boys at Hope House in the nearby village of Ixlahuacan. There are close to 30 boys at the home and many of them come to the home having received no dental treatment. If you live here at Lakeside and would like to order a quality, hand crafted card for a special occasion and help me contribute to this worthy cause, please e-mail me at bettyinchapala@yahoo.com Card price is 50 pesos; the entire sales price is donated to Hope House.

Roses July Challenge

Hello everyone! I am now on schedule for the Roses challenge, even though it may look like I'm a little early for Christmas!

This month Mary Anne Rose issued a patriotic challenge, since it's Olympics time.  She said: I want you to create something to show me what patriotic means to you. Use your country's colors and be proud!

Well, Mexico is now my adopted country and the colors of the flag are green, white and red. Green represents hope, white represents purity, and red represents the blood of national heroes.

Getting back to Mary Anne's challenge, being patriotic to me means doing nothing (even unknowingly) to dishonor this wonderful country's flag.  So, rather than doing something that may offend in some way, I am just going to use Mexico's colors to make a Christmas card. I used Cindy's Freshly Made Sketches #45 for the layout of my card.

Have a wonderful day, everyone, and enjoy it to the fullest!

I see you have some of those crazy white lines on your text. I had one line show up yesterday. Any ideas?
