Hope House Home for Boys

The cards that I sell here in Chapala and Ajijic, Mexico benefit the dental program for the boys at Hope House in the nearby village of Ixlahuacan. There are close to 30 boys at the home and many of them come to the home having received no dental treatment. If you live here at Lakeside and would like to order a quality, hand crafted card for a special occasion and help me contribute to this worthy cause, please e-mail me at bettyinchapala@yahoo.com Card price is 50 pesos; the entire sales price is donated to Hope House.

A Sketch Challenge and Green Tomatoes

This is a card that I made from the What If? Wednesday sketch at the Repeat Impressions Challenge Blog. The deadline is not until June 14 at 5 pm EST so there's plenty of time for you to join in the challenge -- just follow the link. My image is from MelJen's -- love her digi images -- they are so much fun to color!
We were blessed to find three tomato plants in the garden of our rental home when we moved in. We have tried growing tomatoes in the past but never had a single bit of luck doing it. So, to find three grown plants with green tomatoes on them made us quite giddy! One of the plants is a regular red tomato but two are Green Zebra Stripe Tomatoes. They have a tangy taste and are really delicious. Even though they are green all the way through, they are completely ripe and we'll be having these for supper tonight!

Betty,
This is a really cute card. Love the flowers. Those tomatoes look wonderful. I will be having red grapefruit.

Very pretty card Betty! I need to try and get to that sketch. Love tomatoes and those look interesting! I have had white, yellow, orange and of course red ones before but never zebra striped ones!
