Hope House Home for Boys

The cards that I sell here in Chapala and Ajijic, Mexico benefit the dental program for the boys at Hope House in the nearby village of Ixlahuacan. There are close to 30 boys at the home and many of them come to the home having received no dental treatment. If you live here at Lakeside and would like to order a quality, hand crafted card for a special occasion and help me contribute to this worthy cause, please e-mail me at bettyinchapala@yahoo.com Card price is 50 pesos; the entire sales price is donated to Hope House.

Roses August Challenge

Olga asked us Roses to do something with handmade flowers this month. I used my Nestabilities Scalloped Circles and cut toward the middle on every other scallop. Then held them all together with a decorative brad. Stamped leaves from A Year of Flowers and sentiment from Say It With Flowers by Gina K. Designs (since we all "met" at stampTV!). I really like this sentiment and think it describes our "circle of roses" quite well!

We post our challenges the last Sunday of the month and since it's already Sunday in Australia where Sue and Kez live, I decided to go ahead and post too!!

Had a very productive day today; our construction projects (adding closets and outside storage room) to our new home are complete and we unpacked more boxes today and began filling up the new spaces. It's all going to come together -- now all we need is to have our bookcases built and installed so we can unpack the rest of the boxes!! No stressing allowed though -- they'll get done when they get done!

Betty, you did a wonderful job on your 3D flower and I too love Gina's sets and this sentiment. So glad you are getting organized, it is such a great feeling. But remember you are now retired and just work on it when you feel like it, that is the best thing I think about not working now. We may work hard one day and not much at all the next, lol, but that is ok. Take care.

What a great idea to make a flower Betty. I've never used my nestabilities to do that. Beautiful card! Great inspiration.
