Hope House Home for Boys

The cards that I sell here in Chapala and Ajijic, Mexico benefit the dental program for the boys at Hope House in the nearby village of Ixlahuacan. There are close to 30 boys at the home and many of them come to the home having received no dental treatment. If you live here at Lakeside and would like to order a quality, hand crafted card for a special occasion and help me contribute to this worthy cause, please e-mail me at bettyinchapala@yahoo.com Card price is 50 pesos; the entire sales price is donated to Hope House.

Annabelle's Birthday Bash Challenge

Hey everybody! I've been absent this past week due to sickness. Monday and Tuesday, I wasn't feeling quite right; Wednesday and Thursday, I was flat on my back in bed; and Friday, Saturday, and today I've been trying to get some strength back.
I missed the first day of Annabelle Stamps birthday celebration but here's my card for the recipe challenge #1. And the recipe is:
   1. use a new stamp, or your latest Annabelle stamp.
   2. use a die cut or punch
   3. add bling
This was my third attempt at this image. First, I tried to do it with glitter -- didn't work! Next, I painted flowers with twinkling H2O's and the rest of the image with regular watercolor paint but the look was a little too brash. The third time was the charm when I went with watercolor crayons and a waterbrush.
The stamp sets I used are from Annabelle Stamps. The image is from Ballerina Rose and the sentiment from Sentimental Bluebells. They are my most recent Annabelle purchases.
Cutting was done with Nestabilities Long Classic Rectangles Large and their Scalloped counterparts.
Added four green pearls for the bling, and FINALLY, I had a card completed even though it fought with me tooth and nail! Join me in a cup of the Recipe (I watched an old episode of The Waltons while I've been on the couch recovering) and enter your card over at Sue's blog.
Happy Birthday, Annabelle Stamps!

Oh my goodness, Betty - I sure hope you feel better soon. Sounds like you have been very ill. Your card is beautiful! I see it's get well soon - are you mailing it to yourself? Guess that would be one way to get happy mail!!! Take care, my friend - I'll be thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers.

You went through a lot to make this but it came out great Betty. I have been sick myself which is not good since I am also packing and working over time :)

Hi Betty so sorry to hear you've been feeling unwell and hope you're back to 100% soon!
Your card was well worth the struggle you had with it! So pretty with the soft colouring and your perfect sponging. So glad you could join in the AnnaBelle 2nd Birthday Celebrations and look forward to seeing all your cards to be in the running for the Major Prize.

So sorry you weren't feeling well. I love the image in watercolor. So soft and pretty. You know I just grab the Copics out of habit now, but I need to carry those things to another room to help me remember to do some water color and Prismacolor/OMS again. I went you open my Shimmerz last weekend to show someone and they were all dried up!!! What a disappointment. I think I paid $4 a jar way back when. How is your asthma??

I've been fighting something for the past few days as well. I know for me it's the weather change always affects me but this time it was worst. Glad you are feeling better.
This is a really pretty card don't you just hate it when they fight you like that :). I have that all the time.
