Hope House Home for Boys

The cards that I sell here in Chapala and Ajijic, Mexico benefit the dental program for the boys at Hope House in the nearby village of Ixlahuacan. There are close to 30 boys at the home and many of them come to the home having received no dental treatment. If you live here at Lakeside and would like to order a quality, hand crafted card for a special occasion and help me contribute to this worthy cause, please e-mail me at bettyinchapala@yahoo.com Card price is 50 pesos; the entire sales price is donated to Hope House.

Christmas Cards

I have two Christmas cards to share today and they were both inspired by the gals at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown. My first card is for their current sketch challenge:

You have until Friday, August 10 to enter this challenge -- why not join in????

My second card was inspired by an example from Patty, a member of the design team, for a previous challenge. Here is her card.........

And here's mine......

Thanks to my friend, Alice, who allowed me to use her embossing folder (and her Big Kick) at our card making group yesterday.  My Big Shot jammed up this past week and the handle wouldn't turn. My husband took it apart, straightened out a bent piece, and put it back together again -- you've probably seen where there were leftover parts at the end of the process -- that happened to us, but the thing is still embossing and cutting dies!!!! I can't take it to our stamping group any more because it has to be handled just right, but thank the good Lord, it's still working! I use that thing on almost every card that I make and it's going to be awfully hard to replace since I can't just run down to Michael's with a coupon and replace it -- no Michael's here in Mexico!!

Bye for now,
Betty

Yours is a gorgeous card with the baubles on it, and the white one too.
Thanks for popping in to my blog and your comments.
The rose was in my garden and one of the first photos I took with my first digital camera.
Hope my Big shot never lets me down.
Hugs

Two lovely cards you've made Betty! Love the gold shimmer on the first and how the vibrant red pops against the crisp white on the second card! Hope your machine holds out for you, I know I'd be lost without my Big Shot!

Thanks so much for sharing your cards with us at 52 {C}CT!

You did a wonderful job with the sketch! I love that you used ornaments in place of the stars, very creative!

I just have to say how honored I am that you liked my card and I love how yours turned out! I really like how you stamped within the embossed circles, what a great idea!

Thanks for playing along this week at 52CCT!
