Hope House Home for Boys

The cards that I sell here in Chapala and Ajijic, Mexico benefit the dental program for the boys at Hope House in the nearby village of Ixlahuacan. There are close to 30 boys at the home and many of them come to the home having received no dental treatment. If you live here at Lakeside and would like to order a quality, hand crafted card for a special occasion and help me contribute to this worthy cause, please e-mail me at bettyinchapala@yahoo.com Card price is 50 pesos; the entire sales price is donated to Hope House.

Organize, Organize, Organize!

Hello friends!! Well, I think I worked my mojo too hard and it decided to fly off with those birds in the last two cards I created!! Just haven't felt like doing another (actually, I did make one more but was not happy with it at all; that may be why I'm feeling this way)! Anyhoo, I have taken to organization!! Decided to put my cling mount stamps on 8 1/2 x 11 mounting pages and in larger binders. Check out the picture below -- I have the large Gina K. StampTV kit,Spring Mix and the GKD Winter Foliage set on one page.I plan to add index labels to the pages so that I can find the particular set that I want more quickly.

The majority of my stamps are now living in three large binders. I have other miscellaneous rubber stamps that will require a smaller binder and another one for my "holiday" stamps -- Christmas, Easter, Halloween, Valentine's Day, etc.

I took all my stamps off the wooden blocks some time ago and have been storing them on the smaller mounting pages but the number of binders has become unmanageable. That led to the decision to use the larger mounting pages. I think I may keep some of my favorite cards in the smaller binders and I can store them in a closet since they don't have to be "right at hand" in my U-shaped craft space. I plan to do a bit more straightening and cleaning and then will probably be ready to get back in card-marking mode!!

Wow! This looks so organized! Love your books. What do you use for and where do you get the 8.5 x 11 mounting pages? I am currently using smaller notebooks that fit the mounting sheets that GKD stamps come mounted on. Am about to start using notebooks for my clear stamps. I do like to use notebooks but the small notebooks do not hold a lot. Cudos on a great job!

Looks great, Betty! I know what you mean about the mojo...sometimes it is good to take a small break. I just did a card for Isabella's and thought I would love it in my head, not so much on paper. LOL Love the notebooks and the way you are getting organized. Never have undid my SU..still on wood, but they do take up a lot of room. Keep your ideas coming and talk to you soon.

When you have this perfected, I will send a plane ticket for you to come do mine! LOL! I could keep you busy for a year. Good job, Betty! Mojo took a powder here last week. Maybe we just need breaks?

I sure know what you mean about the mojo going somewhere. I haven't even found the energy to do the organizing. Hope mojo and energy hurry up and come home. They must be hiding where that lost card was. lol
