Hope House Home for Boys

The cards that I sell here in Chapala and Ajijic, Mexico benefit the dental program for the boys at Hope House in the nearby village of Ixlahuacan. There are close to 30 boys at the home and many of them come to the home having received no dental treatment. If you live here at Lakeside and would like to order a quality, hand crafted card for a special occasion and help me contribute to this worthy cause, please e-mail me at bettyinchapala@yahoo.com Card price is 50 pesos; the entire sales price is donated to Hope House.

Make a Card with Scraps

This is my second post today. Melanie Muenchinger issued a challenge on her blog, Hands, Head and Heart. It was to make a card with scraps that are on your desk. Thankfully, I have a "scrap box" on my desk so I was able to get right to work on the challenge! The little round frame is from Pam Lefors Designs. The flower is from My Mind's Eye paper pack, Simply Delightful. I just got the Martha Stewart border punch yesterday and had punched several pieces with it, just waiting for use! I made the layered background papers for another project but decided not to use it so into the scrap box it went! The sentiment is from Gina K. Designs, Many Wishes. I enjoyed your challenge Melanie -- Thanks Bunches!

Very pretty card, Betty! Don't you just love what you can do with scraps. Sometimes they are the best things I make. I hope to join in the challenge but I have a meeting this evening so I'll have to try to get it in tomorrow. Good luck!

I'll have to wait a day or two for this one. I actually cleaned up my desk! DGD was coming over and she is into cleaning up for me...and she is only 3 yr! She really does a good job and puts every thing in neat piles! But I still felt the need to get ahead of her! LOL! grammawamma
